Ian Cook is a father and experienced small business owner with a long history in the Mulgrave electorate who is now standing as an independent candidate at the November 2022 election.

Best known until now for his fight against Department of Health and Dandenong Council for the closure of his business I Cook Foods (also commonly referred to as SlugGate), Ian felt that it was not enough to complain about corruption but not do anything about it.

“Having seen political corruption firsthand for the last three years, I felt the best way to fight this was to run as an Independent against the Premier in the seat of Mulgrave.”

This is not about revenge and it’s not a stunt.

The people of Mulgrave deserve a local member who believes in integrity and democracy, and who listens to the electorate and meets their individual needs.

At the state election this November, I would be genuinely honoured if the people of Mulgrave chose me to be their local member.

“This is not about left and right, this is about right and wrong and corruption is always wrong.”
