Fellowships & Funds
Support HVO volunteers through special designated funds. These fellowships and funding opportunities make it possible for volunteers who might no otherwise be able to travel HVO sites to lend their expertise - and gain new skills and knowledge - to improve global health. These funds include:
SEA-HVO Traveling Fellowship
The SEA-HVO Fellowship provides senior anesthesia residents the opportunity to improve anesthesia care in developing countries by teaching and mentoring their counterparts. Every year 30 to 40 residents apply for this fellowship. The number of residents selected is dependent on the number of fellowships available. Please contribute to give anesthesia residents the opportunity to teach and make anesthesia safer in developing countries.
If you would like to fund your own named SEA-HVO fellowship, you may contribute $4,000 to fund one entire fellowship opportunity for a resident.
OO Traveling Fellowship
Foremost to our mission, residents and young surgeons offer a unique educational opportunity for students and residents of orthopaedic care in resource-scarce countries. In addition, when senior residents and young surgeons work abroad with a preceptor and their overseas colleagues, they gain a new perspective on global orthopaedic care. Your support makes this possible -- thank you!
Plotnick Fund
The Plotnick Nursing Education Volunteer Fund was created in celebration of HVO leader and nursing education advocate, Julia Plotnick, RN, MPH, FAAN, RADM, USPHS (ret). This fund underwrites HVO’s nursing education projects and volunteers who seek to improve the quality and availability of nursing care around the world.
We are grateful for your continued support!
