Donate to Hummus For Thought
For the past seven years, Hummus For Thought did not accept donations. I tried for as long as I could to fund this blog as best I could from my work as a journalist, photographer, editor, copywriter and translator, a lot of which is done on a freelance basis.
But that could not last too long and this blog ended up going through periods of several months of inactivity for the simple reason that I couldn’t afford it.
As this project grew and matured, it moved from focusing on issues specific to Lebanon to tackling problems affecting the region as a whole. This is why there are now separate sections for Lebanon, Syria and Israel/Palestine (and soon Jordan).
Now, the goal is to take it to the next step and put into place the following:
- Produce audio interviews and discussions for ‘Hummus For Thought, the Podcast‘ along with Sarah Hunaidi
- Have all future content (as well as a selected number of past content) available in both Arabic and English
- Expand the already existing sections as well as create new ones
- Other projects which will be announced
This is why I made the difficult decision of starting to ask for donations.
Every $/£/€/etc donated to Hummus For Thought will go to supporting this website. If you feel like the content on here is valuable, please consider helping out. Any amount helps, truly. And I promise that I don’t have any dark and secret plan for your $/£/€/etc (I solemnly swear that I am not up to no good).
In fact, I will have a separate section on Hummus For Thought called Registry of Interests in which I will publish the amount received every month in the name of transparency.
Thank you for your time and support,
Joey Ayoub
