Humanitarian organizations List
Listed below are some of the humanitarian organizations and local groups that are providing aid to Ukrainians during their time of crisis:
Ukrainian Red Cross
How the Red Cross is Helping
As conflict continues to roil Ukraine, the Red Cross is vowing support for the most vulnerable. More than two million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries and even more are displaced within the country itself. As the fighting intensifies, so does the dire humanitarian situation and needs on the ground.
UNICEF
Conflict in Ukraine poses immediate threat to children UNICEF is working to scale up life-saving support for children and their families
The conflict in Ukraine poses an immediate and growing threat to the lives and well-being of the country’s 7.5 million children. Humanitarian needs are multiplying by the hour as fighting intensifies. Children have been killed. Children have been wounded. More than a million refugees have been forced to flee Ukraine seeking safety and protection. Hundreds of thousands of them are children.
We must protect all children in Ukraine. Now. They need peace.
United Way's United for Ukraine Fund
Some 2 million people have fled Ukraine, and experts predict 4 to 7 million will be forced to leave before the conflict is over. United Way is stepping up to support those displaced by the violence, providing life-saving relief.
The immediate neighboring countries, Poland, Romania and Hungary, are expecting the biggest waves of people escaping the violence.
The conflict is devastating for Ukrainians, whose lives have been upended and whose future is uncertain. In accordance with our mission of mobilizing the caring power of communities for the common good, United Way is launching the United for Ukraine Fund in response to this urgent and growing humanitarian crisis.
As families migrate to safety across Europe, our trusted partners on the ground, United Way Romania, United Way Hungary and Fundacja Dobrych Inicjatyw (Good Initiatives Foundation) in Poland, stand ready to aid those who have been displaced by this crisis. They are working with local partners to determine the needs on the ground and to address the immediate and longer-term relief needed for those made vulnerable by the fighting.
The immediate support will cover:
- Transportation
- Shelter
- Food and medicines
- Critical childcare supplies, including infant formula and diapers
- Hygiene kits, and more
By donating to United Way, you’re supporting vetted, nonpartisan organizations on the ground and providing vital help to those who need it most. This situation is fluid and there is no doubt the needs will be great and will continue for some time.
International Rescue Committee
Over 2 million refugees have been forced to flee Ukraine. Help the IRC send vital supplies to displaced children and families
Our response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has killed at least 400 civilians and displaced more than 2 million people so far, is no different. Our team quickly deployed to neighboring Poland, where they are scaling up resources and mobilizing partners in both Poland and Ukraine to assist people who had to flee their homes.
Even before the attacks on Ukraine, the world had been facing unprecedented humanitarian needs. A record 80 million people around the world have been uprooted by crises. Some 41 million people in 43 countries are on the brink of famine. Wars around the world are lasting longer and becoming more complex, with civilians paying the price.
Against this backdrop, and with so many urgent crises in the world, how does the IRC decide whether to respond to an emergency? How do we choose what aid we will deliver? And what is the best way to support our work?

Save the Children
MILLIONS OF CHILDREN ARE IN DANGER.
Every war is a war against children and right now there is no safe place in Ukraine. We are appealing for $19 million to reach 3.5 million children and their families that are in danger across the region.
Children in Eastern Ukraine have already endured shelling and violence for the last eight years. Many have been displaced from their homes. Airstrikes and explosions have resulted in damaged essential services such as schools and hospitals.
Two million people have crossed the borders from Ukraine into neighbouring countries since the 24th of February, including an estimated one million children.
The impact of conflict on children is devastating.
Save the Children has been operating in Ukraine since 2014. Our teams are ready to provide life-saving assistance such as food, water, cash transfers, and safe places for children.
