Human Trafficking Advocacy Fundraiser: Kolkata, India

Over the past two decades, I have dedicated my work to supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Across each chapter, the heart of my work has remained the same: meeting survivors in some of their most vulnerable moments and helping them navigate the path toward safety, choice, resources, and healing.

I am fundraising in partnership with Philanthropic Femme Society Inc. to support human trafficking rescue and rehabilitation centers in Kolkata, India, serving vulnerable women and children who have experienced trafficking and exploitation.

For the women and children supported by these centers, rescue is only the beginning. Healing and rebuilding a life after exploitation requires long-term support, safety, opportunity, and a community willing to continue showing up.

These centers provide more than a place of safety. Survivors have access to counseling and mental health support, education, vocational and job training, financial literacy, life-skills development, and healing practices such as trauma-informed yoga and meditation. Together, these programs help women and children.gain access to the tools, resources, education, and opportunities that allow them to imagine and create a future beyond what happened to them.

Healing cannot be rushed, and it cannot stop once someone reaches safety.

In March 2027, I will travel to Kolkata to visit the centers and witness firsthand how the funds we collectively raise are supporting this work.

Survivors deserve more than survival.

We cannot rewrite what happened to them. But together, we can help create more possibilities for what happens next.

Thank you for standing with me, with the women and children of Kolkata, and with survivors everywhere💜
