Goal

I’m fundraising for a Human Trafficking Advocacy initiative in Kolkata, India, in partnership with Philanthropic Femme Society Inc

This cause matters deeply to me

Kolkata is one of the global cities where human trafficking—especially of women and children—continues quietly and devastatingly. Many are trafficked through poverty, addiction in the family system, coercion, or simply being born into circumstances where protection was never an option. Once caught in the cycle, escape is unimaginably difficult.

As someone who works in social services and has spent much of my life supporting children and families impacted by addiction, neglect, and systemic harm, I see how trauma compounds when people are left without advocacy or resources. Human trafficking is not an isolated issue—it is deeply connected to poverty, substance use, lack of education, and generational trauma. These are the same patterns I witness locally, reflected on a global scale.

What moves me about this fundraiser is that it supports real advocacy, prevention, and survivor-centered care—not saviorism, not surface-level aid, but efforts that honor dignity, autonomy, and long-term healing for those impacted in Kolkata.

This isn’t about guilt or obligation. It’s about compassion, awareness, and choosing to stand where we can—even from afar.

If you feel called to support, whether through donating, sharing, or simply holding this work in your awareness, it truly matters. Every contribution helps strengthen advocacy, protection, and hope for people whose voices are too often silenced.

Thank you for being part of my community, for caring about the world beyond your immediate reach, and for believing—like I do—that collective action, led with integrity and heart, can create real change.

With gratitude and love,
Bonnie
