We are eight high school students who live in Utah from diverse backgrounds. We are co-founders for Idea Factory, an entrepreneurship program where we learn how to take action on ideas we have a passion for. We believe art has the power to create a level ground within our community, so we are reaching out to homeless teenagers who have artistic skills. We want to break the distinct barrier between labels and stereotypes of the homeless population.
We created this festival where we come together as a community to help and support each other. We want our neighbors to see the homeless population as a human that deserves as much as respect as anyone else. We have identified labels and stereotypes that can be socially accepted due to lack of knowledge and curiosity. Labels are created because our society can find it easier to brush the growing problem off. You can help the next generation of chronically homeless youth to become equipped with basic needs to help them become stable and more confident in all areas of their life. Our future realize on the next generation, so we must give them a hand, because they are humans just like you.
