Hi Supporters of Akiing!!

The land across the street from Pine Point School has been owned by RDO Offutt, the largest independent potato producer in the country. Offutt sucks our groundwater up and fills it with toxins. This endangers our lives — these toxins drift into our village via aerial spraying, causing cancers, birth defects, lupus, and other preventable illnesses. We deserve better.  

That’s why we are buying the land, 160 acres, from Offutt, in order to protect our community, and grow a new future — a future with organic agriculture, hemp, and a community solar project to power our school.

I’m asking you to help us raise the $350,000 for this Land Back purchase, a core component of our just transition work.
