Thank you all for your incredible support!! With your help, we have raised over £10,000 to help support our Hot Meals programme.
Back in April 2020, we started off providing Hot Meals to NHS front line staff, but very quickly realised the overwhelming need for food support in our local community. Since then, we have been working with local food banks and food charities to provide cooked, hot meals to them to distribute to their users.
With your help, the Gurdwara kitchen has been operating every single day, producing hundreds of meals each day with a small group of volunteers.
We have received hundreds of messages of support and thanks from those that have received our meals, and our efforts have been showcased in local and national media.
It is clear that food poverty is a key issue in the local community, and with your continued support, and in the spirit of community service which is a key pillar of the Sikh religion, the Gurdwara would like to continue using its kitchen facilities to serve this cause.
With your donations, we will continue to prepare hot, cooked meals, and we will look to upgrade our facilities to support this vital community function.
