This gift is with appreciation for your important, good work and in memory of our friend John Hanson.

I honor the many ways that the Hopi people have nourished my Spirit and those around me, through their lived example. I also thank those, who in the face of ignorance and brutality, still chose to share your traditions with those outside your People. In order to honor your many Gifts to us, our dance community collected this money on Thanksgiving, and educated ourselves about the brave Hopi, who were willing to actually be taken to Alcatraz, rather than let their children be filled with ignorance, and lose their Sacred Teachings. Special Love and Honor to the Spirit of Grandfather David Monongye. We have given an equal amount to The Hopi Foundation, your sister organization. Askwali for everything you do. I have always felt called to help the Hopi people and other indigenous groups. I hope this helps to make the people of the Hopi community's days a little bit better.🙂

Our local book club read a great book by indigenous author, Angeline Boulley, Firekeeper’s Daughter. We are wanted to donate to a local tribe and decided on Hopi Relief. We enjoyed learning more about the Ojibwe reservation in Michigan and since we know Rachel C immediately thought of this foundation to donate to. Ruth, Erika, Danelle, Ruth, Yvette, Cami and Veronica.

Thank you for all the work you all are doing to help others through this continued pandemic.
