Hopelets: A New Life for Discarded Lifejackets
More than 15,000 refugees have died crossing The Mediterranean in the last 4 years, most fleeing ISIS and the Syrian Civil War. These hand-made bracelets, known as "hopelets", are made by survivors of the dangerous journey across the sea from Turkey to Greece. The hopelets represent hope against all odds.
100% of your donation goes directly to support refugees in Greece. The family who makes the hopelets nearly drowned after their raft split open on the way over to Greece. They were pulled from the water by one of the many organizations who monitor the seas, looking for rafts in distress. They share the donations with Dirty Girls of Lesvos, a nonprofit organization working inside refugee camps to stop the spread of diseases and parasites by making sure all families have clean blankets.
Hopelets available to ship to USA and Canada only.
