Hong Kong Watch needs your help to raise £50,000 to sustain our international human rights work in 2027. As we look ahead to the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong Watch and the 30th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong, we are filled with gratitude for the generous support you have given us over the years.


Please continue to support us in the fight for freedom for Hong Kong and in solidarity with Hong Kongers worldwide.


Our future plans

Looking ahead, your contribution will help us:


  • Build civic and political leadership among the Hong Kong community, including by expanding our Youth Initiative Programmes in the UK, US and Canada.
  • Advocate for BNO Hong Kongers to be exempt from any new UK settlement requirements.
  • Work with the Parliament and government of Canada to resolve the Hong Kong Pathway backlog.
  • Expand our advocacy and community outreach work in the US, including preserving Deferred Enforced Departure and partnering with American Hong Kong community groups.
  • Tackle transnational repression against the Hong Kong diaspora around the world, including the withholding of billions of pounds worth of MPF savings.
  • Promote our ongoing research on business and human rights as well as groundbreaking research on Hong Kong’s patriotic education reforms.
  • Speak up for political prisoners in Hong Kong and ensure that Hong Kong remains on the international agenda.


Our achievements

In the past year, your generosity enabled us to achieve the following:


  • Launched Youth Initiative Programmes in the UK, US and Canada.
  • Advocated successfully for the retention of the ‘5+1’ pathway to citizenship for BNO Hong Kongers in the UK.
  • Advocated successfully for the expansion of the UK’s BNO scheme for eligible Hong Kongers born before the 1997 handover.
  • Worked with Canadian parliamentarians and government officials to expedite approvals for permanent residency, work permit, and study permit applications under the Hong Kong Pathway.
  • Conducted high-level meetings with US policymakers, including in Congress, the State Department, and White House.

  • Launched in-depth reports on investor exposure to human rights violations via Hong Kong equity markets as well as Hong Kong’s special privileges in law, and engaged with policymakers in London, Washington DC, Ottawa and Brussels to advance policy responses on these issues.
