Honey Lodge was conceived in 2015 by the youth of Lakota Youth Development in order to help bring Grandmother Earth back into balance.
Our youth heard about the devastating amount of bees that were dying and wanted to know how to help. From there, our youth have made relatives with the bees while developing economic opportunities for people within their communities.
Since 2015, we have grown from only 5 hives to 50 hives and we continue to create new products to sell through this youth-led enterprise. As we continue to expand, we will need our own building to process honey to enable us to fulfill more orders and create new products.
