Delivering Life-Saving Care to Homs
After years of conflict, Homs is in crisis. Families are struggling to access even the most basic healthcare as hospitals and clinics face overwhelming challenges. The destruction of the city’s central referral hospital has left a devastating gap in medical services, forcing patients to rely on overstretched facilities with limited resources.
The economic crisis has left many families, unable to afford the care they desperately need, particularly those with chronic illnesses. Public hospitals are operating with outdated or broken equipment, and the shortage of trained healthcare workers has left communities vulnerable. Mental health trauma is widespread, and displaced families are returning to areas with little access to critical services.

- Identified the Needs: Completed a preliminary needs assessment of healthcare priorities in Homs, ensuring we focus on what matters most.
- Created a Local Liaison Team: Selected a liaison group in Homs to oversee on-the-ground activities.
