We have some exciting goals for 2024-25 and are asking for your help in making them a reality. Our total goal is $23,950, which will cover several key goals for us:
1. $950 for GPS Collars and Handhelds. Currently our team has 3 GPS collars to cover 5 working dogs. We are asking for $650 for one collar/tracker combination from Garmin. An additional $300 will cover the last dog collar.
2. $3.000 for the African Canines in Conservation Conference. Kayla has been invited as the keynote speaker for the African Canines in Conservation conference. This exciting event will take place in March in South Africa, hosted by the Endangered Wildlife Trust. We are seeking $3,000 in funding to cover her flights, dog care while she is gone, and incidentals during travel. While the conference has offered to cover Kayla's costs with registration fees, we would prefer for conference funding to go directly toward supporting conference costs for all attendees.
3. $20,000 for a documentary film crew covering our fieldwork in Alaska. As a reach goal, we have been in contact with an amazing filmmaker about producing a documentary covering our fieldwork in Alaska. While we are grantwriting to get this covered, grants are difficult to come by. Ultimately, this film will help us connect with more donors, students, and scientists to expand our programs, fundraising reach, and educational offerings.
We are incredibly grateful for any support that you can offer to help us reach these goals. We know that there are so many worthy causes out there and appreciate your attention, time, and willingness to help our conservation dogs have an even broader impact.
