Hoka Hey 2026: Riding for Purpose. Riding for Lives.

Support Eric Cameron’s Cross-Continent Mission to Prevent Veteran Suicide

My name is Eric Cameron, and in 2026 I’ll take on one of the toughest endurance motorcycle challenges in the world—the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. I’m not doing it for glory, and I’m not doing it for miles. I’m doing it to save lives.

I’m 53 years old, a husband of 25+ years, father of four, grandfather of two, and a rider of 37 years. I spent nearly 25 years as an Airborne Infantryman in the U.S. Army, including five combat deployments. After retiring, I stepped into the government contracting world and now operate my own company supporting military and veteran-focused missions.

This year’s Hoka Hey ride is deeply personal.
I’m riding in remembrance of SFC Larry B. Pelham, who recently lost his final battle with combat-related trauma. His loss is one of too many. We lose an estimated 22 veterans every single day to suicide. That is unacceptable.

So I’m turning this grueling, spiritual journey into a force for change.

Why I’m Riding

For most of my life, I was a well-honed machine—trained to survive the woods, the road, and the worst combat conditions imaginable. Long-distance rides like the Hoka Hey now serve as my way to test myself—not in battle, but in endurance, resilience, and purpose.

This ride stretches from one end of the continent to the other. It demands every ounce of grit a person has.
I’m taking that challenge and using it to raise money for 22Mohawks, an organization dedicated to preventing veteran and first responder suicide.

I live with PTSD myself. I know the fight. I know the nights that feel too long, the weight that never fully lifts, and the silent battle too many veterans lose.
22Mohawks steps into that gap—pairing veterans with companion dogs, offering suicide-prevention training, hosting mental-health retreats, and building community so no one has to face the darkness alone.

This is how we pay our debt of gratitude forward.
This is how we keep more veterans alive.

Your Support Saves Lives

Your donation directly fuels mental health programs, canine companionship placements, suicide-prevention workshops, and real-time support for veterans who desperately need it.

Every mile I ride, every hardship I push through, and every exhausted sunrise I greet will be for:

  • Veterans fighting PTSD

  • Families like SFC Pelham’s

  • The brothers and sisters we’re still trying to save

  • The 22 who should still be here today

I’m asking you to stand with me.
