Goal
As many of you know, we moved to the Catskills from Brooklyn during the early days of the pandemic, and we loved it so much, we didn't go back. We're now living in Shokan, and so grateful for all of the incredible natural beauty around us. In an effort to maintain that wild beauty and make sure everyone has a chance to enjoy it for a long time to come, I'm fundraising this August for the Catskill Center, a nonprofit organization that preserves land, provides educational opportunities for adults and children on how to responsibly enjoy the land, including science education and Leave No Trace.
Hike for the Catskills is an opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the Catskills while helping to protect critical Catskills habitats, keep our land and waters wild (even at the most popular hiking destinations), and advocate for our communities and the Catskill Park.
If you have a few dollars you want to send my way as I spend August hiking some of the lands the Catskill Center stewards, I'd be grateful. I'm hiking at least 20 miles (and probably more) during August as my goal--everything from rail trail walks to steeper climbs.
And if you live up here and want to join me in fundraising, this month-long event is meant for everyone! From complete beginners to expert-level hikers, all are welcome to register.
