Help Woodshop of Recycled Delights recover from a fire

Goal

On the 23rd of September, a huge fire destroyed the WoRD workshop, bike trailers and tools and equipment, and damaged parts of the community garden we are based at, including the GED's compost toilet which we built only this Spring. The GED also lost all of it's water storage systems and much of it's kitchen/seating area and plants.

This has been devastating for us, the WoRD community, and the Garden of Earthly Delights community and neighbours. Right now, we are prioritising the care and wellbeing of everyone in these groups, and making sure that we follow all the right processes as far as safety is involved, but in the coming weeks and months we will begin repairs on the garden so that we can fully reopen the space, and work to replace equipment that has been lost. Unfortunately, we don't have the funds to cover this, and we are not covered for the damages.

We need your support, and we are grateful for any support you can give.

Since 2022, we’ve been transforming reclaimed timber into benches, planters, shelves, and so much more, while giving hundreds of people the skills, confidence, and space to make, learn, and collaborate. Our workshops aren’t just about building with wood - they’re about building community. People from all walks of life come together, share ideas, make things with their hands, and leave with something lasting, both tangible and personal.

With your help, we can recover, restore the Garden, and continue this work.

In gratitude, The Woodshop of Recycled Delights
