EMERGENCY - 120 DOGS BEING EVICTED MAY 24, 2025!
Our rescue partner in Beirut, Rescuing in Lebanon, has received an unexpected eviction notice from the facility where their 120+ dogs have called home for the past 5 years. A new property owner has decided to use the surrounding land to build bungalows for Airbnb rentals, and does not want the dogs around to "bother" guests with their barking.
Our partner, Sarah, has tried to fight the eviction, but the city ultimately sided with the property owner.
To make matters worse, threats have been made that if Sarah does not relocate the dogs by May 24th, they will be poisoned! Unfortunately, it is VERY common in this area that street dogs are poisoned, and we just cannot take the chance that someone will make good on their threat to do the same to our protected rescue dogs.
Sarah has found a piece of land adjacent to another boarding facility where we can build a shelter for the dogs. BUT, we urgently need to raise at least $24,000 (originally $16k) in order to do so. We cannot move the dogs to the new location without having a safe enclosure for them and kennels/roofing to keep them protected.
This is extremely time-sensitive, as it will take approximately 2 weeks to build the enclosures and install all the fencing... and we MUST move the dogs out by May 24.
We currently need (UPDATED 5/15*):
• Fencing for kennel area and land - $7,000
• Build 60+ kennels - $4,000
• Roofing for kennel area - $8,000
• Ground material and leveling - $1,000
• Transportation of 120 dogs - $1,000
• Additional labor and fees - $3,000
TOTAL: $24,000
Please help us secure the funding needed to build the new shelter and move the 120 dogs to safety. The dogs are depending on us, and we urgently need your support.
