Help us Help others in need
Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services (MEIRS), like many other nonprofit organizations and resettlement agencies across the country, is facing an urgent challenge in continuing to provide critical support to families in need. MEIRS resettled 110 individuals this fiscal thought our R&P program. Out of the 110 refugees currently under our care, all are within their first 90 days of resettlement. Despite the stop order directing us to suspend all R&P services, we have a moral responsibility to support these families. We cannot do this alone—we need your help.
Your support will help us provide:
- Housing: Assisting families in securing permanent housing, including deposits and furnishings.
- Food Assistance: Ensuring families have three meals a day while in temporary housing.
- Transportation: Helping families access essential services, medical appointments, and employment opportunities.
- Staff Support: Ensuring we have the personnel to assist families with navigating housing, employment, and benefits.
