A little about our rescue:
We're a small but mighty rescue from the beautiful island of Hawai'i. Being that we're from Hawai'i, our mission statement is to "embody the Aloha Spirit through dog rescue". We carry out our mission by welcoming all breeds and sizes of dogs in our rescue ohana (family), because in Hawai'i, family is closely bonded and welcoming of one another. We wanted to live out the 'Aloha Spirit' into our dog rescue because it's in our cultural background and a legacy that we always want to embody into our rescue work. As a small rescue ohana, we specialize in saving at-risk overlooked dogs in overpopulated high-kill shelters throughout the west coast. We strive to raise awareness by educating the community on the ongoing issues that lead to the dog overpopulation crisis and high euthanasia rates throughout the nation. We use our voices and our platform to advocate for ways we can reduce the dog overpopulation crisis by being a part of the solution, whether it's choosing to adopt, foster a dog in need, or raising donations for our rescue so we can continue our work to save overlooked breeds that are the most at-risk of being killed in shelters.
Our rescue is deeply rooted in advocating for overlooked dog breeds like pitbull/bully type dog breeds. We strive to break through the negative stereotypes that have been woven around these highly misunderstood breeds. The mislabeling of these types of breeds has been transpired into the media and public for decades and we're here to change the people's mindsets on these amazing types of dogs . We welcome you all to our rescue ohana, a close community united in purpose and bound by the 'Spirit of Aloha'.
Our goal for Giving Tuesday:
Our rescue just started operations this March of 2023 and we were able to save a handful of dogs within our first year of being in operation. We want to continue to save even more dogs next year and the futures ahead. We decided that we want to become a facility-based rescue so that way we can expand our vision to save more dogs!
With a facility, we would be able to accommodate more dogs, offer training sessions to the public, host adoption events, board dogs, and so much more! The possibilities are endless! For Giving Tuesday we kindly ask if you can donate to our rescue to help us reach our vision and goal! Mahalo for the continued support!
