Smiles of Hope: Yonibana Dental Camp April 2026

An Appeal from the Better Lives Foundation Dental Team

This April 2026, our Volunteer Dental Team will return to Yonibana Sai Hospital, Yonibana, Sierra Leone, a community where hope exists, but access to basic dental care does not.

With only 10 dentists serving over 9 million people nationwide, thousands are living every day with untreated pain, infections, and conditions that would be easily treatable elsewhere. 

• Children cannot concentrate in school. 
• Parents struggle to work. 
• Simple pain becomes life-altering suffering. 

For many, there is nowhere to turn. Together, we can change that.

Our dedicated team is preparing to deliver life-changing care directly to Yonibana and surrounding villages, focusing on:

• 🦷 Emergency extractions and pain relief to bring immediate comfort
• 🦷 Preventive care and screenings to stop problems before they start
• 🦷 Essential dental treatment and vital community outreach

To make this mission possible, we urgently need your support. We are raising £12,000 to fund the dental camp — covering vital costs such as disposable medicines, anaesthetics, infection control supplies, essential consumables, equipment, and logistics needed to safely treat hundreds of patients.

We prioritise those who have suffered silently for years with untreated dental pain, while also training local healthcare workers to ensure our impact lasts long after we leave. Every donation places the right tools in our hands — and real relief, dignity, and hope into someone’s life.
