We are in a fight for our lives. 

For decades thousands of people have been funneled into prison with little hope of returning home no matter how much they turn around their lives. Simultaneously, the budgets of police departments have been supersized while the violence that plagues our communities continues unabated. 

We believe that all of our communities deserve the resources they need to be safe and that no human being is disposable. 

Amistad Law Project is a Black-led, Black-centered legal and organizing project fighting for the human rights of all people. 

At Amistad Law Project, we wage strategic campaigns to divest from police and prisons so we can invest in things that truly keep our communities safe. We build the leadership of people from communities harmed by the criminal legal system to bring people home from longterm incarceration. We fight for the rights of incarcerated people with movement lawyering.
