It’s the little things we celebrate that are actually quite big and moving in the right direction! I am back in Texas (so frustrating and hard to be away) but got info from Nancy, Sonny, and the incredible nurse /friend who arrived last night! THANKS Mary Hobus!!!
1. Off blood pressure meds... seems to be doing ok there. Very slight fever today 100.2 not sure why.
2. Platelets continuing to climb (up to 76,000... 36,000 yesterday)
3. Trying to wean off dialysis a bit to see if they can kickstart kidneys (Kidneys struggling but we are hopeful).
4. Liver looked scary yesterday and they were very worried.... although still worried biliruben down from 9-7.5 so that is moving in right direction! Praise God!
5. Dengue fever came back negative (no other culture news yet)
6. Maybe maybe maybe they can take off breathing tube tomorrow (every doctor has different opinions)
7. My fav news is Sonny Rhodes called so excited as she was more responsive and he said she even gave him the eye brow thing:) so good to hear that boy a bit relieved. Mason and Sabrina taking next shift and of course Dave.... please pray for him and all the family to take care of themselves and stay strong!
The fam and I can’t thank you enough for prayers... although slowly.... they are working... God’s timing of course!
I believe ICU deductable has been met (thanks Kimberly Hahn). I’m sure there are many other things that will not be covered by insurance but we are so appreciative of your generosity. Y’all are incredible!!! Thank you so much.
Don’t stop praying and please take a second to give hugs to all whom you love... time is precious!
God is good, all the time, and ALL the time, God is GOOD!

Update on Cindi.... too much has happened and there are so many of you that love Cindi, I thought I’d post as I can’t physically get back to each of you. I am so sorry to be doing this over FB if you haven’t heard yet, but we need all the prayers!!
Cindi is a fighter but this is the biggest fight of her life. Please continue to pray fervently that she will be completely healed.
Cindi had a high fever for about a week and went to the doctors and was told it was the flu. She finally ended up calling 911 and they admitted her Monday, 9-10. She was diagnosed with Sepsis but they could not find cause of infection. She has been poked and prodded, tested, x-x-rayed, ultra sound, and much more. Kidneys and liver compromised so they put her on dialysis to clean our her blood. She was in immense, unbearable pain. Tested for leptospirosis as there was an outbreak there when we were on our mission trip in Jamaica. Still waiting for cultures as they take several days. Also testing for Dengue Fever. Platelets too low for spinal tap due to fear of internal bleeding, so couldn’t totally rule out meningitis.
Tuesday night Sonny, Momo, and Jenna spent the night and things seemed to get worse. Cindi hadn’t eaten or slept. They finally gave her pain meds but she still only slept about two hours. We thought yesterday was going to be a better day, but proved to be worse.
Jaundice setting in and pain never ending. Breathing is not being done effectively so so CO2 is causing her to be confused and she has huge anxiety and is too uncomfortable to be still. It is so very hard to see her suffer. So last night they decided to intubate and she is finally able to get some rest. Hard to see, especially for Mason and Sonny! This will allow her body to rest, heal, and not fight against itself.
She is surrounded with love...Momo, Dave and the boys, Sabrina, David, Nancy, Jenna, Katy, her Debbie, Ruth, and other Bible study friends, Pastors, Emmalee, Beavers, so many others have been there and of course the boys haven’t left her side (needless to say all three are a mess). Cindi always has a party and that hasn’t stopped now. We actually got kicked out of the waiting room as there are too many who love her and couldn’t stay away! Biggest group of prayer warriors I’ve ever seen, please don’t stop!
ICU, as you know is $$$$$, so we will set up a Gofundme account to help with the $9000 deductible. If you are in a place to help, thanks so much. If not, please don’t underestimate the power of prayer!
Updates hopefully coming soon!!!
