Goal
The goal of this particular TCC camp is to provide access to high-level catching instruction for youth athletes in Puerto Rico.
"Puerto Rico has become somewhat of a second home to us and training catchers is one of the only things I am really good at, so I wanted to do something to give back to PR after it has done so much for me.
As many of you know hurricane Maria caused widespread devastation across the island. Something that can be overlooked is the impact on available outlets for youth athletes. Fields and equipment were destroyed, and funding was diverted to more important areas of concern for the island (ie. food, water, rebuilding of communities, etc).
We wanted to do something to give these kids access to our program and information, so we decided to run this camp. I think the dynamic and bond that will be created over the course of these three days between the catchers from PR and the catchers from the States will be a special one.
Every dollar donated will go to supporting the costs associated with running this camp for the kids in Puerto Rico free of charge (registrations, additional staff and travel costs). We are in the process of setting up a subsidiary nonprofit corporation, and hoped to be able to fundraise through that entity for this event and others around the country. However, the process will not be completed in time for this event. We still wanted to be able to run this camp, for both the kids in Puerto Rico and in the States, so this is how we have decided to go about doing it.
Unfortunately any donation received will NOT be tax-deductible, but any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and will go towards giving youth athletes opportunities they otherwise would never have had. Thank you!
