Goal
Help Sasha Bazylevych get high quality prosthetics.
Oleksandr (Sasha) Bazylevych, a 25-year-old defender of Ukraine, took up arms during the unprovoked attack by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022. He lived in Kyiv with his girlfriend and had graduated from Taras Shevchenko University with a degree in ecology a year before the war. He joined the ranks of the 3rd Regiment of SOF UA. He fought in the vicinity of Bakhmut as well as in the Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.
His last mission was an assault with the goal of capturing a strategically important location near Kupiansk where the enemy had a strength advantage. During the mission, he pulled a comrade out from under direct enemy fire, which was being shot from a distance of 5 meters. However, a drone-dropped grenade inflicted severe wounds on him and two other soldiers, resulting in Oleksandr losing limbs and requiring assistance and prosthetics.
As a result of this attack, Sasha lost both legs and his left arm during his last combat: He has a high-level amputation of both legs and a complex above-the-elbow hand amputation.

Triple amputation is a very complex and delicate procedure. The overall cost of the treatment and rehabilitation for Sasha is estimated to be $100,000 USD, with $87,000 USD allocated solely to cover the cost of prosthetic parts. The prosthetic care for Sasha is provided by the Protez Foundation, a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit headquartered in Minnesota. This organization supports Ukrainians who lost limbs during the war and are in need of high-quality prosthetics, rehabilitation, and training. The mission of the Protez Foundation is two-fold: to fit injured Ukrainians with cutting-edge prosthetics for free and to empower local prosthetists and rehabilitation specialists with modern methodologies, ensuring sustainable and advanced care within Ukraine.

We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3
