Help Children Learn to Read By Donating to The Reading Wizards Video Series
The Reading Wizards is a new series of educational videos for children who are just learning to read or are having difficulty with reading. We will be offering video lessons on YouTube, SchoolTube, and TeacherTube. We want to make these lessons available to children who need them regardless of their parents' or guardians' ability to pay. Commercial products can be cost-prohibitive for families. We want to reach children who need it most and ask for donations to keep the project going.
The Reading Wizards is being produced by Robert Sharp and Roberto DePalma, who produced the Emmy Award-winning Math Park video series through Lucky Cat Productions, our small company. Robert is a retired educator with an M.A. in Education Administration. Roberto has worked for years in the film, television, and video game industry. Our Math Park series was named Best Instructional Television Series in the Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards competition in 2010 and 2011.
The Reading Wizards is a series of 15-minute animated video lessons teaching phonics and other early literacy skills. The animated series features cartoon characters that make learning to read enjoyable. Each episode is interactive in that we ask child viewers to verbally respond to their video screens when prompted. Our website (thereadingwizards.com) offers suggestions for parents to make this a more meaningful experience.
A total of 15 video lessons have already been produced. We want to continue adding more and more lessons. A total of 50 lessons are in our long-range plans. We want to get all of these lessons online as soon as possible.
