Goal

As you may know, Cambodia is home to one of APOPO’s largest and most impactful programs, and Siem Reap is the location of our Cambodian headquarters. But right now, the city is also facing a growing humanitarian crisis, which is happening right on APOPO’s doorstep.

Due to recent conflict near the Thai border, many families have been forced to flee their homes. Hundreds have sought refuge near the new market area in Siem Reap, arriving with almost nothing, and their need for food, clean water, and basic supplies is urgent.

As a precaution, all APOPO teams working near the conflict in Preah Vihear province – including all staff and animals – have been safely evacuated. While operations are paused, they will resume once it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, APOPO has donated $5,000 from our Visitor Center profits to support the displaced families in Siem Reap.

And thanks to your support, we’ve already raised over $17,000—enabling us to deliver critical aid to hundreds of displaced people. But the need is still urgent. We’re aiming to raise $25,000 to continue this life-saving work. Every donation goes directly to emergency relief—shelter, food, water, and essential supplies—and every Euro or Dollar beyond our goal helps us reach even more families.

This initiative is more than a humanitarian response—it reflects our ongoing commitment to stand in solidarity with the people of Cambodia, especially in times of crisis. 🙏

Additionally, for the foreseeable future, all donations made at the APOPO Visitor Center will go directly to supporting people displaced in Siem Reap due to the conflict.

This initiative is not only a humanitarian response but a continued part of our commitment in solidarity with the people of Cambodia, who have welcomed and supported our mission for over 10 years.

Thank you for standing with us.
