Buy a hedgehog hospital pod

Hedgehogs are in need across Calderdale and beyond, and we need your urgent help to rescue and rehabilitate them. 

Poorly hedgehogs arrive at our Full of Joy wildlife hospital dehydrated, sick, or sometimes suffering from painful injuries. 

Tiny hoglet babies without a mother, come to us vulnerable and helpless, needing warmth and feeding every two hours to give them the chance to survive and grow.

Can you help us to rescue these hedgehogs by buying a specialist hedgehog pod today? 

This year we have taken in more hedgehogs than ever before. And the demand continues to grow - but right now we do not have enough hedgehog pods, proper temporary homes in our wildlife hospital, to take in these animals in need. 

Each pod costs £200. We need six more to be able to meet the demand for rescue space. A total of £1200, from donations by you and other kind people, can make this a reality for hogs. 

Hedgehogs like this little boy, who we nicknamed Horace. He came into us as a hoglet with the worst case of ringworm we have ever seen. He was missing huge patches of his protective spines and was very weak. Thanks to the specialist medication we gave him, he has a fighting chance of recovery. 

In a hospital pod, we can keep sick hogs like him safe and clean until his treatment is over and he is healthy and well to be released into the wild.

We urgently need six more specialist hedgehog pods, giving each patient a safe, secure space to rest and recover while receiving the care they need. 

Shockingly, our beloved hedgehogs are struggling in the wild. Their numbers are so low they are officially classed as vulnerable to extinction. So with every individual helped in our hospital, we are also supporting the survival of hedgehogs across Calderdale.
