UPDATE September 17th
Earlier this month, a final eviction notice was issued, prompting an urgent effort to relocate the sanctuary. Nia and three volunteers scrambled to prepare for a move to what seemed like a promising opportunity. Sadly, it fell through at the last moment, leaving Nia back at square one. Despite the setback, she continues to search for a viable path forward while caring for the animals day-to-day: 17/7 excruciating work days.
As of now, no forced removal has taken place. Nia of course, continues to do everything she can to try and save the lives of the cows and preserving the sanctuary, but herself and the cows desperately need your help.
A suitable safe home could arise at any time. Funds raised via this fundraiser may help secure a solution, but more so, a financial sponsor is still the most realistic route for them to acquire a suitable home, so supporters are encouraged to keep spreading the word and reaching out to individuals, foundations, and organisations who might be able to help make a lasting resolution attainable.
If you can think of anyone who might be able to help, please reach out to them. If you are personally able to assist, please be so kind to get in touch. Thank you so much!
Every donation, share and message of support means the world. Thank you for standing in solidarity.

I am asking for your kind help in raising desperately needed funds for
Heartstone Sanctuary, a vegan organic Farmed Animal Sanctuary in
Ireland, dedicated to providing a safe and loving home for currently 20
ex-industry cows and calves, and 6 horses and ponies (and a few rescue
dogs and cats), including many who are blind and/ or have other special
needs.
Nía has worked tirelessly and beyond exhaustion since 2018 to sustain
the Sanctuary with little outside support, caring not only about
animals, but also human rights, the climate, vegan rewilding (aka
v-wilding), and the planet. Nía is a truly caring, compassionate animal
guardian/ activist, but she cannot do this without us.
This is by far the most crucial time ever for the Sanctuary,
without your support there seems no way (left) they will survive.
After narrowly escaping a flooded, sinking, and collapsing farm in Sligo
due to the climate breakdown, Heartstone evacuated to what turned out
to only be a temporary solution in Co. Meath in May 2024. The sanctuary
has since been working against the clock to raise funds to secure their
permanent, safe home where they can finally recover, heal, thrive and
live in peace.
With the money raised, Nía will be able to pay for building emergency shelter,
concreting, fencing, and to cover land costs - effectively also removing a
significant acreage from the animal industries.
Also, every month, bedding and feed is the main cost, along with vet fees
and other regular expenses that come with maintaining these large and, due
to their genetics, care-intensive animals' health and well-being.
Please consider donating and share with your networks. Reach out to
Philanthropists or anyone who you feel may be in a position to sponsor
or help with larger sums.
Lastly, live-in volunteers are most welcome and urgently needed.
Nía needs help with mucking out, administrative tasks, building materials
or if you can help in anyway, it would mean SO much.
Let's provide them with a lifeline and give them the life they (and
others) deserve. Together we can create a future for survivors of one of
Ireland's largest industries. Without Heartstone, there is literally no
other place for the current residents, or future cows in need, to go.
And time has already run out; they already live on borrowed time.
If you'd like to donate via Paypal: sanctuary@heartstone.earth
Your efforts would be eternally appreciated by Nía, myself, and the
precious Gang (the animals).
Thank you so much!
Miranda
