Disaster Relief
On September 1, 2019, Hurricane Dorian shredded the Bahamas killing at least 56 people leaving more than 600 or more people still missing.Hurricane Dorian has departed the Bahamas rendering it broken, traumatized and hungry. More than 13,000 houses are destroyed or in need of serious repair before they are inhabitable again. Bahamians are dazed and have lost their homes and all of their possessions in many areas. On many of the Bahama Islands there is total devastation and there is a lack of food, fresh water, hygiene supplies and medical supplies. People are still in shock and many have nowhere to go for comfort.
Church leaders have reached out to Hearts of Life asking us to help them in this time of severe need. Church leaders have given us a list of the items most needed for immediate and long range needs and we are responding.
