Land Access Project Details (Short Term Goal):

Land access is extremely important for BIPOC communities. We all are connected to earth. Our relationship with earth should be one of reciprocity. We need earth to heal while we heal with earth. Our plant and animal relatives need us to also care for them. What that looks like is not taking more than we need while also giving back.Through this project we will be able to access land close to home base. This project will be launched for Spring 2021. This project will allow us to grow food, medicines, and have a space for cultural activities. This space will be inclusive and safe for BIPOC.

Main Objective:

We hope this project will be medicine for people struggling from the impacts of colonization, neocolonialism, and environmental destruction. We hope this space will be medicine for those struggling with suicide, addiction, mental health issues, food insecurity, lack of access to ceremony & lack of multicultural gatherings.

We need your support to manifest this great healing, strengthen community, & revive relationships without colonial violence. Our Goal is to raise $8,000 and we will add $10,000. Our goal is $18,000. Please donate today.

Land Back Project Details (Long Term Goal):

One of our most important initiatives will need major direct support. That initiative is the Healing With The Land Project: LGBTQ2S-BIPOC Communal Stewardship, Food, Healing, & Culture. Members from REJ both Wabanaki communities and non-Wabanaki communities are working on this project. After consultation and dialogue overtime we have decided to raise funding to return land back to Wabanaki people. We hope to create cultural agreements on a space stewardship where Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of color can build and restore relationships, uphold matriarchal communal ways of thriving, and embrace ancestral healing. Members from REJ both Wabanaki and non-Wabanaki are working on this project.

More Details:

We are so grateful that we are allowed to exist and live on Wabanaki ancestral land. We want to create an inclusive and accessible space for survival, healing, and thriving for Black, Brown, Indingeous, and other community members who have historically been disenfranchised, displaced from their ancestral homelands, exploited, and targeted. This space will be a place for rematriation, growing food, implementing permaculture, multicultural activities, traditional cultural practices, social gatherings, community healing of trauma, creating, building, and rest & restoration. We want to have the capacity to provide and meet people's needs holistically. We will need financial support and eventually the community's willingness to help steward this potential land. We hope to accomplish this in a good way that provides enough space for: traditional Foodway, gardens, traditional & non traditional buildings, and social gatherings. We hope to have space for healing through plant medicine, fitness, outdoor recreation, mindfulness activities, relaxation, and spiritual gatherings. We hope this space can be one of refuge during climate change.Ultimately, we believe Wabanaki land and water relatives should be reunited with Wabanaki peoples without colonial ownership & destruction. We hope this project will be medicine for people struggling from the impacts of colonization, neocolonialism, and environmental destruction.
