Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs #GivingTuesday 2020

For over two decades, the Hawaiʻi Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA) has researched, addressed, and resolved a wide range of key issues facing Hawaii resulting in policy advancement in the state. HIPA’s goal is to represent a resilient and evolving Hawaiʻi and educate the public on pressing issues. The institute brings together a variety of community experts, scholars, and policymakers to encourage informed debate of the immediate and long-term issues facing Hawaii's communities.

ABOUT THIS YEAR'S GIVING REQUEST

HIPA is focused on Hawaii’s economic future. Even before we reach that future, its primary stakeholders are with us today: our youth. HIPA is committed to lifting up youth voices in our future-focused conversations about reimagining Hawaii’s economy to be more resilient, diverse, and just. In the coming months, HIPA will center its activities around the expertise of Hawaii’s residents, listening and learning from their experience. This #GivingTuesday, campaign, will specifically focus on youth engagement, and eliciting youth-driven visions of abundance.

Our overall goal with this effort is to seek out, cultivate, and share youth voices that can act as a foundation for our conversations around economic policy and carry the dreams of our community forward.

Donations will go towards honoring local youth experts for their time and knowledge on a social issue. As a result of your donation, the content generated by the expert will be made available to the public on the HIPA website in the form of blog posts, interviews, and other engaging multimedia formats.

Recurring support will go towards related engagement programs that honor community expertise and voice. Your steady support is a critical foundation for our work
