Goal

What do food waste and food insecurity have in common? Food!  Aloha Harvest rescues would-be food waste and redistributes it to those experiencing food insecurity.  Join me in raising $50,000 for Aloha Harvest.

Why?

Food waste and food insecurity are both big challenges:

Aloha Harvest turns these big challenges into mutual solutions. Each year, they rescue over 135 tons of would-be food waste and redistribute it to organizations serving those in need. Every day they collect leftover unsold food from groceries, restaurants, wholesalers, and hotels, as well as surplus harvests from farms and private landowners, and get it to schools, youth programs, shelters, public housing sites, low-income elderly housing, community colleges, faith-based food pantries, and more. Aloha Harvest puts to use perfectly good food that would otherwise be tossed out or left in the field to rot. They're solving big problems and helping those in our community who need it most. That's why I've joined 12 cohort members to meet one big fundraising goal, with a personal goal of raising $3,000, and have donated $300 myself.

100% of your donation will go towards supporting Aloha Harvest's work.  Thank you for your contribution to our community!  -Phoebe
