Harriet Tubman Movement
Thank you so much for partnering up with us!!
Our promises to donors:
We will follow all rules of a 501c3 as set forth by the Ohio Attorney General.
We have careful oversight by our Board of Directors.
We use integrity and care for all spending. We honor the fact that every penny we spend comes from someone who sacrificed something in order to give.
We use resources to help people along the road to freedom.
Harriet Tubman Movement began after helping our first trafficking survivor in 2015, and realizing how hard it is for a person trapped in trafficking to navigate systems and connect with the help available.
During our time of providing direct services to local survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation, we have found the cost to be approximately $1200 from the time of initial contact to getting them to long-term restoration. The average survivor works with our team for about 8 weeks. During this time, we assist in providing clothing, meals, toiletries, connection to medical or dental care, court advocacy and more.
The Harriet Tubman Movement is actively working on opening a short-term emergency home for women who are looking to leave the life of exploitation. This home will be a temporary place to be cared for while working with our advocates to create long-term plans for restoration and healing. This of course will increase our expenses. We are praying that people like you will partner with us to make this a reality. This emergency home will be the only home in our area that will focus on unique needs of survivors and help prepare them for long term restoration.
We thank you so much for your willingness to partner with us. Our survivors thank you as well!!
