Goal
For those of you that aren't aware (because we certainly weren't), Haiti is one of those spots that has an increasing need for change (animal welfare laws, veterinary care, awareness etc), and very few people willing to put in the work to make that happen. I had the pleasure of chatting with the creators of "Haiti Street Dog Project" - one of the only rescues on the ground there, and I was blown away by how two very passionate, caring and bold women flipped their life around to help save animals. I couldn't help but be inspired, and I knew I had to get involved.
The Traveling Vet Rescue is teaming up with Haiti Street Dog Project for many reasons:
To bring medical care to animals in Haiti that need it. To hopefully implement a sterilization and vaccination project.
To bring back some animals in need for adoption in Canada and the US.
To hopefully set up a shelter in Haiti that can serve as a small medical facility but also has a haven for rescued animals. To continue to feed these animals that are often left starving and full of diseases.
To bring awareness to the Haiti Street Dog Project and the amazing work they're doing.
