Haecceitas Inc.

At Haecceitas Inc. our mission is to provide spiritual hospitality and pastoral care for those outside the confines of the institutional church. We are committed to this work because we believe that each and every person is a once in eternity, irreplaceable, unrepeatable act of God and should be cherished and championed as such. Our hope is that as we walk with God and with one another that we might each become a truer fuller version of ourselves. 

Haecceity is the Latin word for Thisness. Thisness is the unique quality of a created thing that is not, nor will ever be, possessed by another created thing. We believe your unique revelation is one of the ways that God desires to reveal God's self in this world. We believe this equally about each and every one. It is therefore our hope to create spaces of spiritual hospitality and pastoral care that will increase the likelihood that those who find themselves outside a traditional spiritual community will receive the necessary care, encouragement and support to continue their unique becoming. 

Haecceitas Inc currently exists primarily to support the free range pastoring of Pastor Judy Howard Peterson, (@walkingpastor) who has stepped away from the traditional structures of the church in favor of pastoring people in and through all types of wilderness spaces. 

The long range dream of Haecceitas Inc is the creation of a network of free range pastors who are able to pastor without the expectation of forming a congregation, the facilitation of opportunities for in person spiritual hospitality and the continued curation of resources for progressive spiritual growth.
