A central part of who we are as a Trust is a strong commitment to giving our students the widest possible access to the arts and sport. Our schools offer many lunchtime and after school clubs for students to choose from, learning all sorts of new skills and discovering interests, some of which may become important parts of their leisure time or even their professional lives as adults.
Our staff and students have been working hard to raise money through Trust events such as Founders Day and Challenge 26 to establish the initial fund. When we divide that between all our GST pupils that comes to only £1.30 each, but that is not its purpose. The aim is to enable pupils to buy or hire an instrument, get hold of sports equipment, dancing shoes, a raspberry pi to code with, whatever will set them on the next stage of their investment in the activity in which they are showing a real interest and which limited family resources can’t stretch to.
