Good Samaritan Inn

     We have two phases.  Phase one is to build a new program building for Helping Hands Healing Hearts.   We have two acres of land in Ponderay on Triangle Drive. The new building on our own property will not only give rent payment relief, but also be on one level which will make access easier for elderly and handicapped, give more needed parking space, give us inside storage space, increase the client clothing area and make it less crowded, give the director private client interview space, add washer/dryer/shower facilities for homeless, and position us to be a complimentary service center for The Good Samaritan Inn.  This all will greatly enhance our ministry.  For this we need approximately $600K.  For more information about Helping Hands Healing Hearts go to www.helping7b.org.

     Phase 2 is to build The Good Samaritan Inn.  There is a pressing need of free temporary housing for the homeless in our community that includes singles, couples, and families who don’t fit into the guidelines of our community's present facilities.  Our mission is to provide temporary housing for the homeless (singles, couples, families) and help them learn of and grow in faith in Jesus Christ to become independent and productive citizens in our community. We have been approved for a three story building with 44 studio apartments, 2 ministry manager apartments, day center with classroom and office.  Clients would be required to participate in the following classes:Life Skills, Financial Management, Healthy Lifestyle, Personal Hygiene. We would provide connections to churches, jobs and if needed counseling.  Length of stay 90 days to two years. The whole project will cost approximately $4.3M. God said in Isaiah 58:6-7, “Is not the kind of fasting that I have chosen …to provide the poor wanderer with shelter.” The Good Samaritan Inn will fulfill what God has chosen for this community.  When you help the homeless, you help our community.
