Growing Together, Rising Higher
Growing Together, Rising Higher
Right now, people are rebuilding their lives at the Cecil Hotel—and they cannot do it alone.
Friends of the Cecil exists for one reason: to walk alongside residents as they move from survival toward stability, dignity, and belonging. This is not charity at arm’s length. This is presence. This is relationship. This is showing up day after day in a place too often written off.
At the Cecil, housing is only the beginning. Healing from homelessness, addiction, trauma, and long-term isolation takes time, trust, and consistent human connection. Our work meets people where they are—listening first, responding thoughtfully, and standing with them as they take their next steps.
We call this Growing Together, Rising Higher because transformation here is mutual. As residents grow in confidence, skills, and stability, we grow as a community—learning what real solidarity looks like. As individuals rise, the whole neighborhood rises with them.
