Growing Gomde California

Dear community,

Gomde California now has more dedicated staff members and more students. We are also holding more programs, including extended group retreat opportunities. Please help support our operations and fuel the momentum of our growth.

To continue to expand our facilities and offer our sangha members comfortable conditions for practice, we will need to raise approximately $160,000. As of now, $55,200 has already been pledged by our extremely kind monthly donors, therefore our current target is an auspicious $108,000.

Although our operational budget is very tight, we are thrilled to have received an extraordinarily generous donation to our projects budget. This donation allows us to begin the architectural plans for our campus. Phase One includes a general plan for a two-story dormitory with 24 rooms, a temple capable of holding 400 people, a dining hall with an attached industrial kitchen, and classroom spaces for our shedra.  When these designs are complete and digitally rendered, we will share them with all of you. On the basis of these designs, we will all, step-by-step, bring the buildings into existence.

So many of you continue to generously offer us monthly donations. You have brought the Buddha’s teachings to the thousands of people already touched by Gomde. You have supported translation efforts, and prepared Buddhist scholar-practitioners for top-tier PhD programs. You have helped provide a platform for the wisdom of our precious masters to expand into our homes and our society. It is because of you that we are poised to move into a promising new place.
