Salam LADC have created a ‘Green roof’ on the rooftop above their community centre to further support the community in which they operate. The purpose of the Green roof is to grow healthy nutritious vegetables and fruits which will then complement existing activities by providing children with these healthy snacks. International volunteers will support local staff in maintaining and growing the nutritious foods on the Green roof. Salam LADC believes in community resilience and enhancing participation between different communities. This activity aims to tackle food poverty by promoting healthy, cost effective and sustainable alternatives.
