The Great Starfish Trail - 9th - 24th September 2023

I have resisted getting fit and running since 1995 when I ran the London Marathon. I thought "Never again"! I literally have not done any training (apart for a few months during the pandemic) since that day. 

However, now that I'm past 50, I feel it's time to do something before it's too late. This challenge of helping Starfish Asia to cover 750Km gave me the drive to get fit. Over the two week period I plan to cover 42Km including running the Richmond half Marathon (21km) to help cover the distance.

However, it's not really about getting fit at all. It's all about making a real difference. Pakistan has been in the news over the past year going from one disaster to another. This on top of the huge underlying unfairness in the country where the poor (especially Christians) have little or no chance of getting out of poverty. If we can raise the grand total of £30,000 then we'll potentially be helping over 1000 children get an education for the coming year. That's just £30 per child.
