Goal
Life gets heavy sometimes.
As a single dad, I’ve had moments where I’ve felt alone, stretched thin, and unsure of how to keep going. But through it all, my kids have been my reason — the reminder that no matter how hard life gets, we keep carrying the weight for the people we love most.
That’s what inspired the Carry the Weight Challenge.
In April 2026, I’ll be hiking more than 100 km across Tasmania’s Overland Track, carrying a full hiking pack with all my gear, plus an additional 25 kg to represent the weight of my kids. It’s a symbol of the love, strength, and resilience that it takes to shoulder life’s challenges — and to keep moving forward no matter how heavy things feel.
I’m raising funds for Grab Life by the Balls, an incredible men’s mental health movement that’s all about mateship — getting blokes together, having a laugh, and showing that you don’t always have to talk about everything to make a difference. Sometimes it’s just about showing up, walking side by side, and knowing you’re not alone.
This challenge is my way of giving back, of turning hard times into something positive, and hopefully inspiring a few others to step out, get moving, and connect.
If this message hits home for you, I’d love your support — whether that’s donating, joining a local hike, or just sharing the story.
Because none of us should have to carry the weight alone.
