We are calling on the power of community - YOU! Please help us raise funds for Ganga Prem Hospice (GPH) in northern India. We will be spending two weeks helping the staff care for terminal patients in dire need of assistance making a comfortable, loving transition. Traveling to India has opened our eyes to see a level of poverty and suffering we were not aware of before. So many people in India simply have no resources/accessibility to healthcare or support during their final days. This is why we need your help!

GPH is a spiritually oriented, non-profit hospice for terminally ill cancer patients in India. Can you believe that here approximately 80% of cancer diagnoses occur once the patient is already in a terminal stage?

The hospice provides medical, social, emotional and spiritual support for individuals and their loved ones as they face life threatening cancer and in their ongoing grief. It is unique in the sense that it has been created to add other dimensions to the concept of hospice, i.e. the dimensions of spiritual care and holistic treatment. The Ganga Prem Hospice exemplifies a rare and valuable fusion between medical excellence and spiritual perception. Eminent oncologists from Delhi have joined with spiritual seekers and holistic therapists in the Rishikesh area to alleviate the physical and emotional pain of cancer patients and their grieving families.

In addition to sending nurses/doctors out to run clinics & home visits in local villages, an in-patient hospice facility is being constructed at the foot of the Himalayas near to the town of Rishikesh. One wing of the facility has been built, but more help is needed to build the second wing and continue offering this selfless love and service to the terminally ill.
