Uganda—God's Word for Children
God's Word for Children
The Bible! The Child's Greatest Training Tool
Ministry: Youth & Children / Bible Distribution
Uganda has the world's second-youngest population, with over 30% of its people being in the 6-14-year-old age group. At the age of 6, most children have learnt how to read and write and are eager to learn anything - it is the prime time to engage these children with the Scriptures and to get them to personally know Jesus.
However, the vast majority of children do not have Bibles in their house, which threatens their spiritual growth and leaving them vulnerable to bad influences and habits. Mrs Kaweesa, Director of Children's Ministry at Namirembe Diocese notes, "Our children are being exposed to all sorts of information in the environment that cannot help them. Our biggest challenge is that many of the Children do not own Bibles."
There is a great demand for God's Word for the children of Uganda. The Bible Society is involved in Uganda to distribute Bibles to the children and their families, as well as working closely with churches and schools to develop their children ministry so as to cultivate a new generation of God-fearing and Bible-believing people.
