Gloria - Hot Springs
Gloria is a 76-year-old woman who tragically lost her primary residence in the recent flood. During the disaster, her secondary home was submerged up to the roof while she awaited rescue teams. She witnessed her main house float away, an unfortunate event that occurred while she was in the other home ensuring the windows were secured. Although this secondary residence, built around 1900, initially withstood the flood's impact, water eventually infiltrated the foundation and interior, leading to significant flooding within.
Gloria now requires approximately 1,200 to 1,300 square feet of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and may need repairs or replacements for the floor joists. She is uncertain about the extent of the damage beneath the floors, but the existing wooden flooring has sustained irreparable damage.
She has contacted her insurance company; regrettably, like many victims of the flood, her policy does not cover flood damage.
The funds raised will be dedicated to repairing and replacing the flooring as necessary, ensuring her home is secure and habitable for the winter.
