Have you heard of Giving Tuesday? It's a global day of giving back at the beginning of the holidays season, following an indulgence spree of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

And in just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a charitable contribution. I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

We're a non-profit. We're not run by greedy corporate shareholders who want to maximize profit above all else. We don’t go around organizing fancy high-dollar fundraisers hustling rich folks for money.

I am proud of the way our foundation raises its money. Almost all of our donations come from people chipping in what they can afford. It's folks like you, who safeguard our non-profit mission and our independent point of view.

Now is the time I ask directly:
