Autism Community Theatre
Because
theatre is "the most immediate way in which a
human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being."
-- Thornton Wilder
Autism Community Theatre began 2 years ago as a weekend activity for teens on the spectrum. Our troop of 9 actors meet weekly for a workshop of theatre games, movement, song, improvisation and character work. Each year concludes with an annual performance.
Operating on an all volunteer basis, out-of-pocket expenses add up. We want to hire additional staff to help our actors reach their full potential and expand this amazing program which builds social skills, imagination, theory of mind and lasting friendships!
