Depression is the number 1 cause of disability worldwide- greater than many significant physical health problems. People with depression must learn to live with extraordinary mental and physical pain, so much so that relatively "simple" tasks such as getting out of bed, caring for oneself, or making food to eat become enormous tasks.

As founder of CFD and someone who has experienced severe depression firsthand, I know this reality too well. Throughout my many years in treatment in various settings with many providers, I found that none of them actually addressed the issues I found were the root cause of significant shame and distress- my difficulties simply getting by day-to-day with depression. Providers would lovingly instruct me to cook Mediterranean meals and exercise at least 3 times/week, when my reality was that just getting to that appointment took Herculean effort.

Cereal for Dinner addresses the day-to-day lifestyle disruptions from depression head-on by providing practical, personalized resources and tools that meet them where they are in their journeys. It also provides realistic steps toward healing that address how they are now, not how they should be. In essence, we are creating the first playbook for depression.

Your donation would be an incredible gift toward furthering this work - allowing us to continue adding and editing resources, expanding our user base so more people can benefit from the information, and most exciting, creating an app, which will begin in mid-January, 2023 and will transform the way we deliver care for people impacted by lifestyle disruptions from depression. Thank you for taking part in this mission to build the first playbook for depression and for giving the gift of relief and validation to those significantly impact by the illness.
